Little Shop of Horrors: A TheaterDance
performed by The Big Open Space (TBOS)
Friday, July 13th & Saturday, July 14th
7:00pm
TICKETS: Cash-only at the door:
$20/adults or $10/youth
TBOS proudly presents a TheaterDance interpretation of Little Shop of Horrors, a delectable sci-fi horror musical with an electrifying 1960s pop/rock score by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. Seymour Krelborn is a meek and dejected assistant at a floral shop who happens upon a strange plant, which he affectionately names “Audrey II” after his crush at the shop. Little does he know that this strange and unusual plant will develop a soulful R&B voice, a potty mouth, and an unquenchable thirst for HUMAN BLOOD. As Audrey II grows bigger and meaner, the carnivorous plant promises limitless fame and fortune to Seymour, as long as he continues providing a fresh supply of blood. Just when it’s too late, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s extra-terrestrial origins and his true drive for world-domination.

July 19 – 7:00 pm
July 20 – 8:00 pm
July 21 – 7:30 pm
In (dis)Place[d], foolsFURY co-artistic director Debórah Eliezer cracks open the assumptions of her own identity through the story of her father, Edward Ben-Eliezer, an Iraqi Jew born in 1930, a member of the Zionist underground, a refugee, an Israeli spy, and an immigrant to America. The story follows the little-known history and tenuous position of Arab Jews in Baghdad in the years leading up to, during and following World War II. The powerhouse solo performance combines story, movement, music, song, recordings and segments of Edward Ben-Eliezers 2007 video interview with the National Holocaust Organization. Eliezer creates several different characters, including her father at three different ages, her great grandmother, their Iraqi neighbors, historical figures and The Land itself.

Duomuzi & The Flight Deck Presents:
Antony & Cleopatra
at The Flight Deck
Thurs, July 26 – 9:00 pm
Tickets: $20 (Adults); $15 (Seniors/Students)
- BUY TICKETS -
The 2-man, 90 minute, stripped-down production of one of Shakespeare’s most epic tragedies is an experience of intimacy & truth. A story of love & the fragility of human relationships, in all of its devastating messiness.
Duomuži’s Antony & Cleopatra premiered August 2016 at The Brick in NYC, toured internationally in London, Cambridge, and Athens, Greece, and in 2017 toured the East Coast of the U.S. from Maine to North Carolina. We have been deepening and refining and re-inventing this production for 3 years now over Skype, in person, and while touring it around the world.
Reviews:
“the performances are so rich, and the direction so razor-sharp and detailed, that this universe feels fully populated.”
“some of the most engaging and innovative Shakespeare that I have seen in years.”
“the men prove that life can be given to characters who, on the page, are entirely lifeless.”
